Uttam Galva Steels Limited has informed the Exchange that "The certified copies of the Orders of High Court Bombay, Goa Bench and Hon'ble High Court of Judicature at Bombay sanctioning the Scheme of Arrangement between Shree Uttam Steel and Power Limited and the Company for demerger of power division of Shree Uttam Steel and Power Limited into the Company from 1st April,2008 (Appointed date) have been filed electronically with the respective Registrar of Companies on 21st August,2009. With this, the Scheme has become effective from 21st August, 2009".

Uttam Galva Steels Limited has informed the Exchange that: "Scheme of Arrangement between Shree Uttam Steel and Power Limited and the Company for demerger of power division of Shree Uttam Steel and Power Limited into the Company has been approved by the High Court, Bombay and High Court, Goa Bench on 7th August, 2009 and 17th August, 2009 respectively".

Uttam Galva Steels Limited has informed the Exchange that "The Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on 31st January, 2009 has approved the Scheme of Arrangement for demerger of Power Division of Shree Uttam Steel and Power Limited into the Company subject to approval of the Stock Exchanges, its shareholders and creditors / lenders and Hon'ble High Courts and the necessary approvals under various statutes".

Life Insurance Corporation of India has informed the Exchange that "Life Insurance Corporation of India has sold 1585978 Equity Shares face value of Rs.10/- each of Uttam Galva Steels Ltd. @ Rs.34.45/- per share".
