Corporation Bank has informed the Exchange that Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in exercise of powers conferred under Section 47(A)(1)(c) read with the Section 46(4)(i) of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 has imposed a penalty of Rs. 10 million (Rupees Ten Million only) on our Bank due to some lapses in KYC/AML norms, along with some other Banks. Corporation Bank has informed the Exchange that the Board of the Directors of the Bank in its meeting held on July 26, 2016,has approved Raising of Capital of the Bank to the extent of Rs. 677 Crore by way of preferential allotment of equity shares in favour of the Government of India. Out of this, the first tranche of preferential issue of Rs.508 crore will be made immediately subject to shareholders and other statutory authorities approvals and the remaining amount will be infused and allotted based on the performance of the Bank on benchmark activities by the end of December 2016.
