Gammon Infrastructure Projects Limited has informed the Exchange that "Punjab Biomass Power Limited, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) in which the Company has 50% stake, has commissioned its first biomass based plant of 12 MW at Patiala and has started exporting power to the state grid. The plant has been designed to use biomass fuel such as rice straw / husk and has sufficient stocks of fuel to operate till the next harvesting season, beginning from September. Gammon Infrastructure Projects Limited has informed the Exchange that the Company has recently entered into a Memorandum of Agreement for the acquisition of an entity, which is setting up a 250 MW coal based power plant, in Western India. The entity has submitted the requisite bank guarantee, to ensure adequate coal linkage for the plant. It has also received a letter of allocation for supply of water for its operations. This marks the foray of the Company into thermal power generation. The Company already has hydro and biomass power projects under various stages of implementation.

Ltd. (ICTPL). The agreement envisages buying of 24% equity stake in ICTPL now and a further 26% equity stake after three years post the commencement of commercial operations of the Offshore Container Terminal Project being implemented by ICTPL.
